Arsenal have received a huge boost in pursuit of Ajax star Mohammed Kudus as the 22-year-old is keen on moving to the Emirates Stadium this summer

The Ghanaian has burst onto the scenes in recent times after enjoying a productive campaign with the Eredivisie giants last season, scoring 11 goals and registering three assists in 19 league starts last term.

It appears after displaying impressive performances for Ajax in recent times, the youngster has caught the attention of several big Premier League clubs with Arsenal and Chelsea among those to have registered their interest.

It has previously been reported that the Gunners have decided to strengthen their right-wing position in this transfer window and have identified Kudus as a serious option.

However, Chelsea have recently expressed their interest in signing the African as well and they were reportedly closing in on personal terms with the player ahead of a potential move this summer.

Kudus to Arsenal

But, according to the report by Football Transfers, Kudus is willing to play in the Champions League next season so he is eager to join Arsenal over Chelsea. So, agreeing on personal terms with the player won’t be an issue for Arsenal if they formalise their interest.

The report further claims that Kudus is looking to take a new challenge in his career so he is planning to move away from the Johan Cruijff ArenA in this transfer window despite Ajax’s desire to keep him at the club.

It has been suggested that Ajax want £40m to sell Kudus this summer so Arsenal will have to spend big to acquire the youngster’s service if they decide to make a concrete approach.

It has been reported that having already splashed more than £200m, Arsenal will first have to raise funds by selling some players before making moves to add more firepower this summer.

Kudus is a versatile midfielder as he can play multiple positions across the attacking midfield position but he can also be deployed as a centre-forward. So, the African would be a useful acquisition for Arsenal if they eventually manage to secure his signature in this transfer window.
