Arsenal injury news and return dates after Newcastle defeat

Mikel Arteta was unable to select Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard against Newcastle United on Saturday evening. The Norway international was not passed fit in time to face the Magpies as the Gunners lost 1-0 at St. James’ Park.

Odegaard scored a late consolation goal against the Hammers as Arsenal crashed out of the Carabao Cup on Wednesday night – playing just 10 minutes at the London Stadium.

According to a report from the football.london, it’s understands that the 24-year-old was assessed ahead of the Newcastle clash, but was ruled out despite his injury not being a serious concern with there being a possibility he could return to action against Sevilla next week.

Martin Odegaard joins the likes of Emile Smith Rowe, Gabriel Jesus, Thomas Partey and Jurrien Timber in the treatment room.
