Arsenal receive boost in pursuit of Ferran Torres

Arsenal have received a big boost in pursuit of Ferran Torres as Barcelona are ready to sell the forward this summer, as per the transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

The Gunners have been busy in this transfer window and have already spent over £200m. They have purchased Kai Havertz from Chelsea and are on the brink of securing Declan Rice and Jurrien Timber’s signatures. It has been suggested that Mikel Arteta’s side will now look to sell some players before re-focusing on adding more firepower to their squad during the later stages of this window and they are planning to make at least a couple of more signings.

Attack has been mentioned as one of the areas that Arteta is interested in bolstering and it has previously been reported that the Spanish boss is keen on signing a new right-winger to support Bukayo Saka.

A few names have been linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium over the last few months with Moussa Diaby and Raphinha being among them but Torres is reportedly on their radar as well.

Torres to Arsenal

Writing on caught offside, Romano has reported that Barcelona would be open to cashing-in on the Spain international if his potential suitors, such as Arsenal, submit a ‘big’ proposal. But, the journalist claims that no club have made a concrete approach to sign Torres yet and nothing has been advanced regarding this deal. It has been suggested that Torres is insisting on staying at Barcelona despite failing to find regular game-time last term. So, it remains to be seen whether Arsenal will manage to persuade the winger to move to the Emirates Stadium if they formalise their interest.

Barcelona reportedly value their star man at around £34m so Arsenal could manage to secure the Spaniard’s signature for a reasonable deal this summer.

However, it is going to be interesting to see whether Arsenal have the financial muscle to spend that much money this summer, having already splashed big to sign Havertz, Rice and Timber.
