Arsenal would actually be willing to sell one of Mikel Arteta’s recent signings if they receive a suitable offer this summer.

Despite Arsenal’s remarkable season, it promises to be a summer of change at the Emirates and Edu Gaspar will be chasing a number of signings.

Mikel Arteta will have already confirmed his summer shortlist with Arsenal’s transfer team, and it wouldn’t be a surprise if business began next month.

According to various reports, Arsenal desire a new striker, another central midfielder and an upgrade at left-back.

Perhaps those are the three areas of the squad that caused the most debate throughout the season, particularly when Arteta’s side weren’t winning.

Both Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko’s performances were scrutinised at times, as well as the club’s decision to let Granit Xhaka leave.

But before Arsenal sign those additions mentioned, the club will need to sort the future of several players on the periphery of things.

Aaron Ramsdale has emerged as an obvious contender to leave, but there are one or two more surprising possibilities too.

According to an Arsenal squad audit conducted by The Athletic, Arsenal could actually be willing to sell Jakub Kiwior for the right price this summer.

Arsenal signed Kiwior in the January window of 2023, paying Italian side Spezia £20m for his services.

Since then, Kiwior has mostly struggled to stamp his authority on the first team, that was before he was handed a chance at left-back.

After the turn of the year, the Poland international enjoyed an ‘unbelievable’ run in the position, even if he was eventually replaced.

And according to the report mentioned, Arsenal aren’t itching to sell the defender at all, but an attractive offer could still change things.

The source believes that Kiwior is likely to stay, but puts the defender in the ‘things could change’ category.

Selling Kiwior would mean that Arsenal would need another left-sided centre-back, and would also lessen the options at left-back.

But with the club said to be seriously interested in Ajax’s Jorrel Hato, they may have already identified a player with a similar positional profile but a much higher ceiling.

Certainly one to keep an eye on, perhaps a reshuffle that Arsenal fans would welcome.

That being said, Arsenal have just been told they would need to pay £171m to land Mikel Arteta’s number one target.
