Arsenal’s Mika Biereth says Gabriel Magalhaes’ tackles feels like a car crash

The talented Danish forward is currently on loan at Austria at Sturm Graz. He is having a fine season, and Arsenal fans are getting excited about his future. Biereth has had some experience of training with the first team at London Colney. Here’s what he said about Gabriel.

Mika Biereth joined Arsenal in the summer of 2021, and he has been highly rated at the club since.

The Dane, who has represented his country’s U19 and U21 sides, was signed by Arsenal from Fulham after he scored 21 goals in the U18 Premier League in his last season there.

Biereth spent his first year at Arsenal, playing for the academy sides. He was often called up to first-team training as well to work under Mikel Arteta.

In one of the sessions, Biereth has revealed that he was on the receiving end of a really strong challenge from Arsenal defender Gabriel Magalhaes. The young forward described it as being involved in a car crash.

He told iNews: “It is a simple game but just [learning] how much goes into it and how much detail there is, I learned all of that at Arsenal.

“The more you train with the first-team, the more used to it you get and those kinds of training sessions put me in good stead for playing with the 21s and then out on my loans.

“One of the first sessions I was over there, I was trying to hold the ball up and big Gabi [Magalhaes] just clattered through the back of me.

“It felt like a car crash! He is massive and I would have only been 18 at the time. Just things like that, the speed and the physicality of it [helped].”
