Ivan Toney to Arsenal has been one of the lingering stories throughout this transfer window so far and Fabrizio Romano has just shared an update on the situation.

Toney has been linked with a move to the Gunners since the very beginning of the window. The Brentford striker is due back this month from his ban, and is attracting interest.

Toney himself has said he feels he owes Brentford something. Meanwhile, the Bees have slapped a huge price on his head as well.

And speaking about the situation tonight, Fabrizio Romano has said that as of now, Arsenal simply won’t be signing Toney.

Speaking about Toney and Arsenal on his latest Here We Go Podcast tonight, Romano had some disappointing news for the Gunners fans.

“I don’t think it’s going to be a concrete or realistic target for Arsenal in the January window. Not just for Arsenal, though. But also for other clubs. In this case the most likely outcome is going to be a summer move for Ivan Toney. Because Brentford want crazy money. They started with a nasty price around £65-70m, now, with Osimhen not on the market, Brentford have changed the asking price to around £90-100m and it is too much for Arsenal. In case they have some outgoings we’ll see what happens but I think it’s very unlikely,” Romano said.
