Whilst Saka wasn’t at his brilliant best on the night, the Arsenal winger was still dangerous down the right wing, with the 22-year-old causing Liverpool’s defence all kinds of problems.
And speaking to the Liverpool Echo, Reds defender Gomez was full of praise for saka for his performance on the night, even if the youngster failed to break down the Merseyside defence.
Gomez said on Saka’s performance against Liverpool: “It’s tough playing against Bukayo Saka, he’s obviously a top player and a direct winger.
“It’s not often the case these days in the Premier League but he’s one that will stay wide to pick up the ball and drive at you. It was tough and I knew it was going to be having played against him so recently.”
