It has been a hectic week for Mikel Arteta, who was on the receiving end of a controversial 1-0 defeat to Newcastle United on the weekend.
After the match, the Spaniard took aim at Premier League officiating, branding the refereeing a “disgrace”
While Arteta will be pleased to return to European action, the Arsenal boss has been dealt with another injury blow in the build-up to the clash.
According to journalist Charles Watts, Eddie Nketiah was absent from training on Tuesday, along with captain Martin Odegaard, who was unavailable selection against Newcastle due to injury.
Nketiah joins a long list of injured absentees including Thomas Partey, Emile Smith Rowe, Gabriel Jesus and Jurrien Timber.
And the Englishman’s absence could mean that Havertz is given the nod up front, having previously been deployed up top for both Chelsea and the Germany national team.
