Kolo Toure has argued that Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka would have been able to get into the Invincibles side.

Saka has established himself as one of Europe’s best right-wingers in recent times, already netting eight goals and providing a further 11 assists during the first few months of the 2023/24 campaign.

Aged just 22, the Hale End academy graduate also has plenty of room to develop his game. But Toure has now claimed that the England international is already the best winger in the Premier League when it comes to one versus one situations.

Speaking about the youngster to The Athletic, Toure said: “One-on-one, he is the best winger in the Premier League. He can take on any player, even two players, no problem.

“There aren’t many players in the league who play like him. A lot of players look for passing or combination, but when you have a dribbler like Saka, you want him to go one-on-one. He can pass players and create an overload through his dribbling.

“Could he have played for The Invincibles? Absolutely.”

Saka will be hoping to help his side continue their Premier League title charge when the Gunners host Brighton & Hove Albion to the Emirates Stadium on Sunday afternoon. The north Londoners go into the match sitting second in the standings, one point behind league-leaders Liverpool.
