Mikel Arteta has no issue with picking Oleksandr Zinchenko when Arsenal travel to face Luton Town on Tuesday, despite his error against Wolves on Saturday.

The Gunners beat Wolves 2-1, but it could have been a bit less stressful if they hadn’t conceded a Matheus Cunha goal on 86 minutes, creating a nervy finish.

The Brazilian’s goal came about as Zinchenko lost the ball on the edge of his own penalty box to Nelson Semedo, with the interception leading to Cunha’s fine finish.

It is not going to be a mistake that will cost the Ukrainian in terms of his first team place, with Arteta saying he did plenty of good in the game as well as the error.

However, he did warn the versatile defender that his performance was not perfect and there is room for imporvement.

‘He created so many chances as well, he provided a goal, it’s part of football, we all make mistakes and it’s not only about that it’s about how you react on top of that,’ Arteta told a press conference on Monday.

‘There are other things that happened after that, that can be done better as well.’
