Patrice Evra has hit back at Gary Neville on Instagram by claiming that Arsenal were ‘robbed’ during their 1-0 defeat at Newcastle United on Saturday at St James’ Park.

Many Arsenal fans, including manager Mikel Arteta, were fuming at the decision to allow Anthony Gordon’s goal to stand.

But on Sky Sports, Gary Neville was adamant that the ‘right’ decision was made, with two big talking points, including if the ball went out of play and whether Joelinton fouled Gabriel – Ian Wright and Dermot Gallagher argued about the matter.

Arsenal got some sympathy from Patrice Evra who responded to Gary Neville in the comments section of Sky Sports’ Instagram post by telling his former teammate that Arsenal were ‘robbed in daylight’.

“Bro, I love you (Gary Neville), but Arsenal got robbed in daylight,” said Evra. “The ball was out simple.”

Not only did Mikel Arteta fume after the full-time whistle against Newcastle United, but the club itself also released a statement backing their manager’s comments.
