Granit Xhaka spent seven years as an Arsenal player before leaving the club last summer.
The midfielder went through a lot at the Emirates. He was even enemy number one at one stage but then turned his career around to the point where Arsenal fans began singing his name every week.
Xhaka left the Gunners and moved to Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen for a fee of £21.4 million last year. He is having an amazing time there.
On the other hand, Arsenal miss him – not just because of his quality as a player but also because he was never afraid to stand up for his teammates.
After the Gunners submitted a complaint to the PGMOL over the rough treatment received by Bukayo Saka recently, Piers Morgan urged Mikel Arteta to sign a midfield enforcer like Patrick Vieira or Roy Keane. If not, he wants the North Londoners to re-sign Xhaka.
He tweeted yesterday: “Embarrassing. Instead of whining about tough tackles, we need to sign a Vieira/Keane style enforcer who will dish it out even harder… or get Xhaka back.”
