Piers Morgan slammed Erling Haaland for his behaviour after Arsenal 2-2 draw with man city on Sunday.

Piers Morgan has labelled Erling Haaland a “nasty piece of work” for his behaviour after Sunday’s chaotic clash.

Manchester City and Arsenal battled to a 2-2 draw at the Etihad Stadium at the weekend. Haaland had given City the lead, only for Riccardo Calafiori and Gabriel Magalhaes to complete a dramatic turnaround.

Arsenal were reduced to ten men on the stroke of half-time after Leandro Trossard’s dismissal. It looked as though the Gunners would secure the three points but John Stones netted an injury time equaliser.

The dramatics continued after the game as Haaland angrily clashed with Mikel Arteta and Gabriel Jesus. He was heard telling the Arsenal boss to be “humble”.

And broadcaster Morgan has been left furious and took aim at the Man City star. Taking to social media, he said: “Humility lectures from the most arrogant player in the league, who nastily belittled 17-year-old Lewis-Skelly, and cowardly hurled a ball at the back of Gabriel’s head. Pipe down. You nasty piece of work.”

Haaland’s antics were not the only topic of Morgan’s complaints. He also slammed Michael Owen’s comments as “nonsense”.

The ex-Liverpool and Manchester United striker said: “Great game yesterday but Arteta’s reaction and comments after were poor yet again. It was a certain red card for Trossard. The only team hard done by was City as Michael Oliver allowed the game to restart a couple of seconds too early in the lead up to Arsenal’s equaliser.”

Meanwhile, Haaland also earned severe criticism for his actions shortly after Stones’ equaliser. The Norwegian striker picked the ball up out of the goal and threw it at Gabriel’s head, who had his back turned. And Ian Wright has taken aim at the Man City star for his actions. Taking to social media, Wright said: “The one thing that boiled me up properly was Haaland’s coward’s move.

“Throwing the ball at Gabi’s head when he’s not looking. When Gabi’s back’s turned to him. Real coward’s move. Gabi would look him in the eye, you know. That’s what bothered me more than anything else. I thought you [Haaland] were bigger than that.”

There was some slight concern for Haaland with it being suggested that he could face a retrospective FA ban. But he will not face any punishment for the incident. VAR checked the exchange but did not deem it worthy of violent conduct.
