Player Ratings: Arsenal 2-0 Brighton

Goals from Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz were enough to seal a vital victory for the Gunners against Brighton

Arsenal Player Ratings

David Raya 6

Barely had a thing to do all day as Arsenal were near-totally dominant. Did spill a Simon Adingra cross but got away with it.

Ben White 6

A much better performance from the England international. His offensive contribution was good, while he was solid defensively. Did receive a yellow after switching off though

William Saliba 6

A few moments where he looked a little unfocused when Brighton threatened to attack. Generally very good though and made one superbly judged tackle in the penalty box.

Gabriel 8

Excellent throughout. Evan Ferguson is one of the best young strikers in the Premier League but he barely gave him a sniff. His distribution was brilliant when called upon as well.

Oleksandr Zinchenko 6

Calm on the ball for the most part and remained patient as Arsenal exerted their dominance. Some probing runs through the middle helped open spaces and he was decent defensively.

Declan Rice 8

Solid enough at the base of the midfield to allow Arsenal to keep their dominance up. A good threat at the near post from corners too. Almost goes without saying how good he is at this point.

Martin Odegaard 9

One of the best in the Premier League when he’s feeling himself like this. Some superb passes to break through and the Brighton defence and moments of lovely skill to set up transitions. All that was missing from the display was the goal.

Kai Havertz 8

Did his running diligently as the only member of the midfield three to have started every game this week. Superb fitness to break forward at the end to finish confidently to win the game.

Bukayo Saka 8

A real threat in the first half despite consistently heavy treatment from the Brighton defenders that went unpunished.

Gabriel Jesus 8

At half time all the talk was about how Arsenal need a new forward. A little patience is a virtue though. A goal for the Brazilian who was impressive throughout and looked to be having fun with a no look pass at the end.

Gabriel Martinelli 7

Consistently got to the by-line and caused issues for the Brighton right backs. Again this end product is a little wanting at times.
