player ratings: Arsenal 5-0 Burnley

Bukayo Saka scored twice as a dominant Arsenal side smashed Burnley 5-0 at Turf Moor to move back to within two points of leaders Liverpool at the top of the Premier League.

David Raya 7

Almost entirely untested. Did well to keep his focus in the kind of slippery and blustery conditions that can be testing for a goalie though.

Ben White 7

Inverted right in to the middle of the pitch to fill the Zinchenko void. Defensively superb and an entertaining nuisance at corners.

William Saliba 7

Another who hardly had anything to do at the back for Arsenal. When he was tested though, the Frenchman was his usual composed self in possession and duels.

Gabriel 7

Given a good physical duel by David Datro Fofana. Came out on top far more often than not and was solid from set pieces. Also good in possession.

Jakub Kiwior 8

Did a decent job supporting the attack when called upon but his was largely a defensive brief. Looks so much more comfortable when he doesn’t have to invert. Grabbed an assist for Havertz’s goal too.

Declan Rice 8

A machine in the middle of the park. For so long Arsenal have been bullied at this ground, but Rice ensured that the roles were reversed this time around.

Martin Odegaard 9

He’s having so much fun at the moment. If you give the Arsenal captain this much space then he will invariably punish you. A well-taken goal to kick things off then created the penalty, before assisting the third. Is there a more in-form player in the Premier League right now?

Kai Havertz 8

A quietly impressive game from the German. When the game was 1-0 his direct running through the heart of the Burnley defence caused problems galore. His goal was thoroughly deserved.

Bukayo Saka 9

It’s now six goals in four games for the England international who looks so confident in the final third. Burnley couldn’t live with him today.

Leandro Trossard 8

Missed a fair few chances but when his goal eventually came it was well deserved. Interchanged beautifully with the rest of the Arsenal front line and found space time and again.

Gabriel Martinelli 8

A superb assist for Martin Odegaard to get the scoring underway. Did well in a creative role and could have had a few more assists if Trossard had been more accurate.

Reiss Nelson 6

Some decent dribbles down the right flank where his directness threatened to cause problems. With the spaces available he might have wanted to do more.

Cedric 6

Defended well down the right hand flank. Getting a few decent minutes now Arsenal are dominating and Tomiyasu is out injured.

Eddie Nketiah 6

One decent chance right after coming that could have earned him a goal. A solid presence through the middle after that.
